What Did Ya Expect?

In Iran Rebuffs U.N. Agency on Atom Issue we learn that Iran will drop out of the Nuclear Nonproliferation Treaty if its case is sent to the Security Council. What a surprise.

Of course they will (drop out).

I find it odd to be agreeing with former Secretary of State Madeline Albright, but the sad reality is that the post 9/11 actions of the US, and pre 9/11, for that matter, have proved to rogue and failed states that the US only invades countries which do not posess the bomb.

So what’s the incentive for any country being put under the microscope to come clean? There is none.

It seems all but inevitable that the Doomsday Clock will be ticked forward again in the near future. The last such move saw the clock advance to 7 minutes before midnight, citing not only the threat of terrorism but also direct a reference to the so-called Bush doctorine “the U.S. preference for the use of preemptive force rather than diplomacy could be equally dangerous”.

There must be an island where Bush, his pals and hopefully also David Frum, faux Canadian, can be sent… Cuba maybe?
